Alaska State Fair Rides & Carnival Guide

Last Frontier Events|June 20, 2026

The midway is the beating heart of the Alaska State Fair. Here's how to do the rides and carnival in Palmer.

The midway

Expect the full carnival lineup — a Ferris wheel, spinning thrill rides, classic midway games, and a kiddie section for the little ones, all lit up as the evening comes on.

Wristbands vs. tickets

You can usually buy individual ride tickets or an all-day wristband. If your group plans to ride a lot, a wristband typically pays off; for a few rides, tickets are fine.

Best time to ride

Lines are shortest early in the day and on weekdays. The midway is most magical after dark when the lights come up — though that's also the busiest.

Plan around it with our Alaska State Fair guide, and see the fair with kids and parking & tickets.
