Biography
Quinn Christopherson is an Ahtna Athabascan and Iñupiaq singer-songwriter who was born, raised, and remains based in Anchorage, Alaska; his mother is Ahtna Athabascan and his father is Iñupiaq. Raised amid both families' oral storytelling traditions, he began writing songs in his early twenties, following his gender transition, and released his first track, "Mary Alee," a tribute to his grandmother, in 2018.
In 2019, Christopherson won NPR's Tiny Desk Contest — selected from more than 6,000 entries nationwide — with his song "Erase Me," which addresses his experience as a transgender man. The win led to a Tiny Desk Concert performance and touring with NPR Music, along with wider national press coverage.
He released his debut full-length album, Write Your Name In Pink, in September 2022 on Play It Again Sam (PIAS). He continues to write, record, and perform, drawing on his family's Athabascan and Iñupiaq storytelling traditions.
